Marriott Investors Say Chain Misled Them on Data Security

Marriott International Inc. faces a would-be class suit that alleges the hotel chain misled investors about the safety of guests’ personal information.

Marriott and its executives “gave the misleading impression” that customer data was secure, according to a Dec. 1 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The chain announced Nov. 30 a hack affecting around 500 million guests at its Starwood line.
