Marie’s Dressing Deceptive Label Suit Voluntarily Dropped

A woman alleging Marie’s salad dressings and dips were deceptively labeled has voluntarily dropped her suit against manufacturer Ventura Foods LLC, according to filings in federal court in Missouri.

Ellen Embry alleged Ventura tricked consumers by labeling Marie’s products as “Made with Real, Premium Ingredients” and containing “No Preservatives” when they contain xanthan gum, a synthetic ingredient. She sued under Missouri’s consumer protection law on behalf of herself and a proposed class of Missouri residents.
