Kraft Heinz Workers’ $3 Million Wage Deal Wins Final Approval

Kraft Heinz Co. must pay $3 million to more than 3,000 packaging and production workers in California who sued over unpaid wages and missed breaks, after a federal court granted final approval of the parties’ settlement.

Class members will divvy up roughly $1.6 million and most will receive about $550, nearly $150 more than the parties originally estimated. The highest individual payout is about $2,300.

The deal won final approval Wednesday from Judge William Q. Hayes of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
