ICE Violated Law in Detention of Migrants Who Turned 18

Immigration and Customs Enforcement violated the Administrative Procedures Act by failing to comply with a law that requires the agency to consider appropriate placements for undocumented immigrant minors when they turn 18, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said.

Judge Rudolph Contreras in his ruling Thursday decided the agency’s liability only, but said that an order on remedies would be issued in the “near future.”
