Honda Hit With Class Action Over Fire-Prone Portable Generators

American Honda Motor Co. hasn’t done enough to make purchasers of dangerously defective generators whole, a would-be class representative alleges in a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.

The complaint, filed Tuesday, claims Honda violated the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and state consumer protection laws when it knowingly sold consumers defective portable generators prone to leaking fuel and catching fire.
