Hawaii High School Girls Denied Class Bid in Title IX Case

A group of high school girl athletes on Oahu can’t pursue their Title IX sex discrimination claims as a class, the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii ruled.

A.B., A.P., A.M.B., T.T., and their parents and next friends failed to show the proposed class was so numerous that joining each current, past, and future female athlete at Oahu’s Campbell High School who is, was, or might be affected by the alleged bias would be impractical, the court said Dec. 31.
