GEICO Policyholders Win Class Status in Car Fees Suit

GEICO must face certified class claims by Florida policyholders alleging it didn’t pay mandatory title and tag transfer fees on total loss car insurance claims, a federal court said April 4.

Whether the company breached its contractual obligations to its customers by not paying the fees is common to all class members and capable of classwide resolution, Judge Paul G. Byron wrote for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
