GEICO Must Face Certified Class Over Coverage for Totaled Cars

GEICO Casualty Co. must face a certified class of tens of thousands of Ohio policyholders who allege the company short-changed them on coverage after their cars were totaled, the Southern District of Ohio ruled.

The plaintiffs allege that five GEICO insurance companies breached their policies when they paid the actual cash value of their vehicles but failed to pay sales taxes and transfer and registration fees.
