Gannett Call Center Workers Finalize $650,000 Deal in Wage Suit

Gannett Co. will pay $650,000 to resolve a resolve a Fair Labor Standards Act collective action involving at least 95 call center employees who sought unpaid wages for off-the-clock work, after a federal judge in Kentucky signed off on the deal.

The FLSA collective members will split about $425,000, with each receiving payments based on the number of weeks worked during the relevant period. It’s estimated that the average individual payout is about $254.

Counsel was awarded $200,000 in attorneys’ fees, plus $20,000 in litigation expenses.
