Fordham University won dismissal of a proposed class action brought by an undergraduate student demanding a refund on his tuition and related fees after in-person classes were suspended in response to the coronavirus outbreak last March, according to a federal court ruling.
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed plaintiff Kareem Hassan’s breach of contract claim on Thursday, after concluding that he failed to identify “a sufficiently specific promise to provide in-person educational services” or any breach of an implied agreement to provide all of its classes in-person throughout the duration of of the semester. ...
