Blue Cross Blue Shield Affiliates Can’t Dodge Antitrust Claims

Dozens of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association affiliates failed June 28 in a bid to get massive multidistrict antitrust litigation against them dismissed (In re Blue Cross Blue Shield Antitrust Litig., 2017 BL 222636, N.D. Ala., 2:13-CV-20000, 6/28/17).

The health-care providers who sued the plans sufficiently identified the relevant geographic and product markets involved in the case, so the case should continue, Judge R. David Proctor of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama said.
