ADM Must Face Certified Class Action in Peanut Price-Fixing Case

A group of farmers won class action status from a Virginia federal judge for their lawsuit claiming an Archer Daniels Midland Co. unit schemed with other top peanut shellers to drive down the price of unprocessed nuts.

“Plaintiffs set forth a myriad of common evidence such as emails, conversations, and deposition testimony,” Judge Raymond A. Jackson wrote, certifying a class of 12,000 farmers.
