Fired Amazon Medical Pot User Loses Claims Against Testing Lab

A man who says he was fired from his job at an Amazon warehouse for testing positive for marijuana, despite holding a medical certificate authorizing his use of the drug, is unable to sue the testing company, Quest Diagnostics Clinical Laboratories Inc., a federal judge ruled.

Nathan Miller was wrong that Quest had, and breached, a duty under Pennsylvania law to report his medical marijuana patient status—and not just the results of his drug screening—to Amazon.com Services Inc., the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said, addressing a novel issue.
