A woman’s suit challenging the legality of her settlement of claims that soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo raped her in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009 should be dismissed, as a sanction for her counsel having improperly obtained privileged documents belonging to the other side, a federal magistrate judge said.
Magistrate Judge Daniel J. Albregts recommended that the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada dismiss the case as “the only appropriate sanction,” in a report and recommendation entered Thursday.
