Colorado Opens Cannabis Office, Says State Best for Growing Weed

There’s a new legal push for weed across Colorado.

The state -- one of the first in the U.S. to legalize recreational marijuana -- is launching a cannabis business development office, providing loans, grants and technical assistance.

“Colorado is, and always has been, the best place to live, work, grow and sell cannabis,” Governor Jared Polis said in announcing the new office on Wednesday.

Earlier in the week, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock proposed a loan program to encourage cannabis industry investment by minorities and women.
