Leading the News: Natalie Brouwer Potts joined the labor and employment practice at Dykema in Chicago as a senior counsel. Her expertise is in higher education matters, according to the firm. She previously served at San Jose State University and at Northeastern Illinois University, managing compliance with Title IX’s prohibition against sex discrimination in federally funded education programs.

Alston & Bird welcomed Grant Alexander as a partner in Los Angeles. Alexander handles employment and commercial litigation.

The Los Angeles office of Fisher Phillips added Bingxi “Ceci” Sun as an associate.

Labor and employment law firm Ford Harrison welcomed partners Michel Bayonne in Hartford, Conn., and Patrick D. Coleman inJacksonville, Fla.

Franklin, Gringer & Cohen in Garden City, N.Y., hired Danny Carrascal as an associate. Hewill serve primarily in the firm’s labor and employment law practice.

Gordon Rees selected Laura De Santos, a partner in the firm’s Houston and Austin, Texas, offices, to be co-chair of the firm’s diversity committee. De Santos belongs to the employment law and drug and medical device practice groups.

Lydecker Diaz promoted Kevin Clinton to partner. Clinton works in the firm’s New York/New Jersey office in the labor and employment law and professional liability groups.

Attorney Chad Staul joined Quinlivan & Hughes in St. Cloud, Minn., on the employment law team.

Vedder Price added Nicole A. Smith as a shareholder in Washington. She balances her practice between labor and employment law issues and occupational safety.
