The U.S. women’s soccer team asked a California federal judge for final approval of its agreement with the U.S. Soccer Federation Inc. settling some of the team’s sex discrimination claims, and a separate ruling that would clear its path to appeal an earlier loss on its pay discrimination claims.
The U.S. District Court for the Central District of California conditionally granted Jan. 12 the players’ motion for partial final judgment in the 2017 suit, which alleged they were paid less than, and had less-than-comparable working conditions to, the men’s team because of sex.
