U.S. Men’s Soccer Group Joins Women’s Team in Equal Pay Fight

The labor organization for the U.S. men’s soccer team and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed court papers supporting the legal fight by the women’s national team to earn equal pay.

The U.S. Natoinal Soccer Team Players Association told a federal appeals court that it understands the long-standing discrimination against the women’s team, which has won four World Cup titles, more than any other nation. It also claimed a shared interest in the women’s lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation that was dismissed by a federal judge last year.
