Tyson Foods, Others Beat Suit Over ‘Product of USA’ Beef Labels

Tyson Foods Inc. and other meat producers won dismissal of two proposed class suits alleging it deceptively labels beef made from foreign-raised cattle as “Product of USA,” when a federal court in New Mexico ruled federal meat inspection law bars the state-law consumer protection claims.

Robin Thornton sued on behalf of consumers alleging they overpaid for beef products made from cows that were imported live and then slaughtered and processed in the U.S.
