A theft and trade secret case valued at billions of dollars by the estate of Bitcoin developer David Kleiman against Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed creator of the data-mining currency, will have to be resolved at trial, a Florida federal judge ruled Monday.
Kleiman’s estate argues that Kleiman and Wright—who has said he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous inventor of Bitcoin—co-created Bitcoin under W&K Info Defense Research LLC.
Kleiman’s estate, together with W&K, also alleges Wright “perpetrated a fraudulent scheme to seize Plaintiffs’ bitcoins and their rights to certain blockchain-related intellectual property.”
