Riders Sue Lime Over Accidents Caused by Defective Scooters

Electric scooter riders who say they sustained injuries after falling from rented Lime scooters filed a class-action suit Tuesday in San Francisco superior court, alleging their accidents were caused by defective or improperly maintained scooters.

The suit against Neutron Holdings, Inc., Lime’s corporate parent, and Segway, Inc., the makers of the scooters, alleges that riders suffered severe injuries after being thrown from rented scooters as a result of defective brakes, throttles, wheels, and handlebars, among others.
