PricewaterhouseCoopers Sanctions Fight Gets California Court Nod

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC will get to argue it’s due the $2.5 million sanctions award against the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power awarded in a fight about an overbilling scandal.

The California Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to review an October ruling that vacated the sanctions, finding they weren’t authorized by the Code of Civil Procedure sections cited by the lower court. Justice Joshua Groban was recused and didn’t participate, though the docket didn’t indicate why.
