Pinterest Escapes Copyright Infringement Accusations For Now

Pinterest Inc. beat allegations from a photographer on behalf of a purported class of copyright owners that accused the site of aiding copyright infringement by its users, according to a California federal court.

Davila for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed claims that Pinterest contributed to the “rampant infringement by third parties” of a photographer’s works in a Sept. 3 order, saying professional photographer Blaine Harrington III didn’t have enough evidence.
