Oracle Deflecting Pay, Hiring Bias Allegations, Labor Dept. Says

Oracle is “seeking to deflect attention” from the Labor Department’s “serious allegations of discrimination” against it, the agency said Feb. 12 in response to the tech company’s accusations that government lawyers improperly revealed employee compensation data in an amended complaint.

The DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs said it didn’t violate a protective order by disclosing pay gaps at the company’s Redwood City, Calif., headquarters based on the agency’s own analyses. The agency has alleged that women and minority workers have lost about $400 million in wages as a result of discrimination.
