Obamacare Appeal Should Get Quick Hearing, Government Says

The Fifth Circuit should set oral arguments for July in a pivotal case that struck down Obamacare, the federal government said.

Quickening the pace of the appeal would reduce uncertainty in the health-care sector and shouldn’t have any adverse effects on the parties, the government told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit April 8.

The brief for the states defending the Affordable Care Act was filed March 25, and the brief for those challenging the law is due May 1.
