Obama Presidential Center’s Impact on Chicago Park Draws Lawsuit

The federal government improperly split its review of the planned Obama Presidential Center in Chicago’s Jackson Park, which allowed federal agencies to “turn a blind eye” to the destructive impacts to the park and other resources, a preservation group says in a compliant in an Illinois federal court.

The Federal Highway Administration and National Parks Service failed to consider alternatives and minimize the center’s adverse impacts, according to the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
