NFL’s Rams Lose Arbitration Bid Over Move From St. Louis

The Los Angeles Rams can’t rely on a 1995 agreement for the club’s relocation from California to Missouri to compel arbitration of a dispute over the team’s move back to the City of Angels, a Missouri appeals court ruled April 16.

The 24-year-old relocation agreement executed between the Rams and St. Louis officials contained arbitration provisions but didn’t support club claims of a “clear and unmistakable” intent to delegate “exclusive jurisdiction to an arbitrator to determine arbitrability of this dispute,” the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, said.
