Musk-SEC Judge Sets Record Straight on Twitter-Sitter Compliance

A federal judge retreated from his conclusion that Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk committed a Twitter Sitter foul in November.

In a clarification of a ruling issued a month ago, US District Judge Lewis Liman said he made no finding that Musk failed to get pre-clearance of tweets in which he proposed selling 10% of his Tesla stock.

The judge’s postscript doesn’t change his April 27 rejection of Musk’s request to ditch his 2019 deal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that required a company lawyer to screen his Tesla Inc.-related tweets about certain topics.
