MLB Netting Supplier Cleared in Pirates Foul Ball Injury Suit

A netting maker isn’t liable for injuries to a spectator at a Pittsburgh Pirates game who was hit by a foul ball that deflected off its netting as she walked to her seat behind home plate, a Pennsylvania appeals court affirmed Friday.

The trial court wasn’t obliged to give a jury instruction that Promats Athletics LLC had a heightened duty of care to plaintiff Wendy Camlin compared to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization and the Sports and Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, who both settled before trial.
