Fanatics Inc. and its retail fulfillment company are accused of violating federal law by abruptly laying off hundreds of employees without providing adequate notice, in a new proposed class action filed in Florida federal court.
Fanatics notified more than 100 workers on Aug. 24 that they would be fired on Aug. 28, even though they could’ve reasonably anticipated the layoffs much sooner, because of the coronavirus pandemic, and given advance notice, the lawsuit says.
