Patrick Traylor, a partner at Hogan Lovells who represented clients on Clean Air Act enforcement and other matters, has started a new job as the EPA’s deputy assistant administrator in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance.
Traylor’s work at Hogan Lovells also included permitting for projects at refineries, petrochemical and fertilizer plants, liquefied natural gas export terminals, and coal- and gas-fired power plants, his bio at the law firm said. He has worked at Hogan Lovells since 1997 and has been a partner since 2004.
The Energy Bar Association’s web page on Traylor said he has represented clients in court mainly in cases involving the Clean Air Act and the Endangered Species Act.
He also has experience in negotiating settlements. His clients have included AES Corp., The Anschutz Corp., BHP Billiton, Daimler AG, Dominion Energy, Edison Mission Energy, Flint Hills Resources, INVISTA, Koch Companies, NRG Energy, Southern California Edison, TransCanada, and Venture Global LNG.
The Environmental Protection Agency website lists him as deputy assistant administrator in the enforcement office, and his LinkedIn page said he began the new job in June. The EPA declined to provide information, and Traylor could not be reached for comment.
