Bennett Goodman joked upon retiring from Blackstone Group Inc. that he wouldn’t be “sipping piña coladas out of coconuts on some beach.” Ten months later, he’s back, leading a new firm that plans to buy stakes in private-equity partnerships.
Goodman’s firm is called Hunter Point Capital and based in New York, according to documents provided to Bloomberg. He’s executive chairman and Avi Kalichstein, 46, formerly with Easterly Partners and J.C. Flowers & Co., is chief executive officer. Some of their funding is coming from Jacob Rothschild, the banking family scion and British investor.
