Goldman Lands Former Obama Counsel as Regulatory Affairs Head

The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has recruited former Obama White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler to help it navigate regulatory waters.

Ruemmler, global chair of the white-collar defense and investigations practice at Latham & Watkins in Washington, will leave private practice later this month to join the financial services giant as its new global head of regulatory affairs. Ruemmler, 48, will also become a member of Goldman’s management committee.

Ruemmler didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment about her decision to leave Latham for Goldman .
