Fractured College Football Landscape Keeps Lawyers Busy

The decision by two major collegiate athletic conferences to scuttle their fall sports schedules, including their lucrative college football seasons, came after consultations with medical experts, administrators, and, of course, lawyers. Lots of them.

False Start: Kevin Warren, a former Greenberg Traurig attorney and ex-legal chief for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, got the ball rolling. Warren is now commissioner for the Big Ten, the first of the “Power Five” conferences to nix football this year due to Covid-19.
