The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) July 1 published an updated history of state and local sales and use and excise tax rates, including current rates. The publication includes rates such as county local option tourist development tax rates, and rates for taxes on transient accommodations. The state sales tax rate is 6 percent. The DOR alerts taxpayers that the rates provided may not be current because counties that self-administer transient rental taxes aren’t required to notify the DOR of local tax rate changes. [Fla.
