Peloton Wins Arbitration Bid in Suit Over ‘False’ Sales Taxes

Plaintiffs who say Peloton charged them a false sales tax on subscriptions must argue their case in arbitration, a federal court ruled.

The ruling granted a motion from Peloton to compel arbitration, which the company filed alongside a memorandum stating the plaintiffs or a spouse had agreed to the company’s terms of service, including an arbitration clause.

The plaintiffs, four individuals who purchased subscriptions to the company’s exercise classes, argued Peloton had waived its ability to seek arbitration by defaulting in earlier arbitration proceedings.
