Ex-Defensive Back for Bills, Jaguars Loses NFL Benefits Suit

A former defensive back for the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars lost his lawsuit seeking monthly disability benefits of $4,000, when a federal judge in Texas ruled that the National Football League plan wasn’t required to consider a knee surgery the player had after his application deadline expired.

The NFL disability board didn’t abuse its discretion in declining to credit Aston Youboty’s January 2019 knee surgery, which took place while his benefits appeal was pending, Judge Andrew S.
