Ex-Cozen O’Connor Lawyer Takes Over Family Interpreter Business

Cozen O’Connor Partner J. Nicole Martin Lawton left the firm in May, anticipating she’d soon take over the family business, Phoenix Language Services, from her ailing father.

She had no idea that her transition to CEO of the Bensalem, Pa.-based company would come a day later when her father died of cancer.

Lawton says she’s using her background in health care law to help guide a company that provides professional interpreters to clients in the healthcare and legal industries, as well as the government.
