Crypto Firms Pitch SEC on Ways to Get Middle-Class Investors

Crypto firms want the SEC to let lawyers, doctors, or even some cryptocurrency experts to get access to digital securities offerings, regardless of whether they’re wealthy enough to make risky investments under current rules.

Blockchains LLC, CoinList, and Security Token Market presented the Securities and Exchange Commission with various proposals to open private placements of digital securities to more people who aren’t super rich. The companies pitched their ideas after the SEC asked for suggestions on how to ease regulations that generally have kept retail investors out of private markets. The comment period ended in late September.
