Cozen O’Connor Can Remain Counsel in Contracts Dispute

Cozen O’Connor isn’t conflicted out of representing a woman in her breach of contract claim against a company that’s a former client of the firm, a New York court ruled.

“The right of any party to be represented by the counsel of her choice is a ‘valued right’” and restrictions “must be carefully scrutinized,” Judge Louis L. Nock wrote for the Supreme Court of New York.

Neeru Chhabra sued Durite USA LLC among others after she allegedly paid for home renovations and installations that never happened.
