Class Action Against Goldman Sachs Trimmed in Court Ruling

A class action against Goldman Sachs & Co. will be limited to its compensation policies only as they relate to pay and promotion, a federal court ruled in the ongoing dispute over allegations of systemic gender discrimination at the global investment banking firm.

The class of former female associates and vice presidents will be limited to the compensation policies at Goldman Sachs, despite a push for the court to reconsider the decision to trim the class action, said U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Lehrburger said in an Aug. 8 order.
