Could wind farms—sources of carbon-free electricity—actually worsen climate change in the places wind power is produced?

That’s the conclusion of a new Bill Gates-funded Harvard University study that is raising eyebrows among climate and energy scientists, who counter that wind farms really don’t do much to turn up the heat near wind turbines.
