Boutique Firm Gupta Wessler Takes on Heavy SCOTUS Load

On Jan. 10, activist lawyer Deepak Gupta stood before the U.S. Supreme Court and argued that state laws barring businesses from imposing surcharges on credit card purchases, but allowing discounts for cash, are a violation of free speech (Expressions Hair Salon v. Schneiderman, U.S., 15-1391, argued 1/10/17.

The case is just one of three that Gupta Wessler, the boutique appellate litigation firm founded by Gupta, 39, a prolific consumer protection lawyer, will argue before the Supreme Court this term.
