BakerHostetler Adds Former Sony Pictures Lawyer to Privacy Team

Dec. 6, 2021, 6:18 PM

Jennifer Mitchell has joined BakerHostetler as a partner with the firm’s digital assets and data management practice group in Los Angeles.

Mitchell was previously vice president of privacy and legal compliance at Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and is the ninth attorney to join the practice group on the West Coast since January 2020.

She is the latest in a string of lateral hires in the firm’s California offices, which most recently welcomed partners Matt Kane, Sylvia Kim and Bethany Lukitsch.

In her previous roles, Mitchell was responsible for overseeing both consumer-facing and employee privacy programs. She built and implemented privacy compliance programs and supported consumer data initiatives in compliance with global privacy laws.

“After meeting many of the attorneys, I realized that BakerHostetler was not only a practice fit but a very good cultural fit as well,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell earned both her J.D. and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
