AerCap Sells $21 Billion of Bonds to Fund GE Aviation Deal

Aircraft lessor AerCap Holdings NV sold $21 billion of bonds in a nine-part high-grade sale Thursday to help fund its acquisition of GE Capital Aviation Services.

The transaction is the second biggest new issue of the year, after Verizon Communications Inc.’s $25 billion offering in March.

Investors had placed around $75 billion in orders for the bonds at the peak earlier in the day in New York, people familiar with the demand said, asking not to be identified as the information isn’t public.
