3M Faces Challenge From Veterans Over Aearo Bankruptcy

After 3M Co. said Tuesday its Aearo Technologies unit has filed for bankruptcy, an attorney representing US military veterans said they will argue for a court to deny 3M’s petition. The veterans have sued 3M over allegedly faulty combat earplugs made by Aearo.

The attorney, Bryan Aylstock of Aylstock Witkin Kreis & Overholtz PLLC, said 3M’s “maneuver is further proof that they value their profits and stock price more than the well-being of veterans who fought and served our country.” He notes that 13 out of 19 veterans who’ve gone to trial have prevailed over the company and been ...
