ANALYSIS: Non-Lawyers Are Finding More Inroads to Legal Services

The Arizona Supreme Court this month granted a license to law company Elevate, making it the first non-lawyer-owned company to provide legal services in affiliation with a law firm in the United States.

The court’s move illustrates how the recent trend of loosening regulations regarding the provision of legal services and law firm ownership by some states and bar associations is likely to bring about unprecedented reform to the legal profession and increase access to legal services.
