ANALYSIS: Libra Regulatory Issues Finally Approach Resolution

The Libra cryptocurrency project, launched with great fanfare in June 2019, has spent almost a year stalled by early criticism from Congress and ongoing scrutiny from regulators. But in April and May, the Libra Association finally announced actions intended to address problems with Libra identified as serious obstacles more than six months earlier. These actions may be the first signs that the Libra project is satisfying the demands of regulators and could meet the original target of launching Libra in 2020.
