ANALYSIS: HIPAA Vendor Breach Epidemic Treatable with Right Care

The American Medical Collection Agency (AMCA) data breach led to bankruptcy, class action suits, and congressional interest in health care providers’ vendor selection and management practices. Since I wrote about the AMCA saga in July, the numbers have risen: Almost 25 million individuals’ protected health information (PHI) was compromised across 24 health care companies’ records.
