ANALYSIS: FTC Report Hints ISP Data Practices Could Be Reined In

A recent Federal Trade Commission report paints a troubling portrait of the data collection and monetization techniques of major internet service providers and their sprawling corporate networks. An analysis of the report’s key observations suggests that the FTC—and perhaps California’s new privacy regulator as well—might be willing and able to rein in some common practices that have been allowed to flourish.
